Will Fezco Die In "Euphoria" Season 2? The Fez Hive Is Worried

Just when we think "Euphoria" is going to ease up on us, it gets drastically more intense. If you're still reeling from episode five of "Euphoria" season two, we have some news for you: it can and likely will get even darker moving forward. The fan-favorite character Fezco (Angus Cloud) might have a tough go of things in the remaining few episodes as season two wraps up. And while the acclaimed HBO series is returning for a season three, many fans fear Fez may not make it out of season two alive.

The season-two premiere finally provided us with a much-needed look into the beloved drug dealer's childhood, so snatching him away from us now seems cruel. He is possibly the only character in the massive "Euphoria" fandom who's unanimously well-liked. Not to mention, we are shipping and rooting for Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Fez's nascent romance already!

Seeing as Cloud recently revealed in an interview that Fez was supposed to be killed off in season one, fans of the Emmy-winning series are nervously twiddling their thumbs as the theories regarding Fez's fate come pouring in on the internet. Let's break it all down ahead!

The season two premiere ending led us to believe that Cal or Nate might want to get even with Fez for beating up Nate. However, Cal doesn't seem to be heading down that road following the events of episode four. But several theories are floating around that still foreshadow a dark fate for Fez.

One Reddit user, @wypipobooty54, thinks the writers fleshed out Fez's character in season two to make his theorized impending demise all the more shocking and hurtful for viewers who are now emotionally invested in his character. They pointed out that the title of the season-two premiere was "Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door." In the episode, Fez and Lexi had a conversation about morals and believing in God. Fez revealed he believes in God but said he'd have to get back to Lexi on the discussion about getting into heaven.

Another subtle clue the user highlighted is the scene in the premiere in which Fez tells Laurie that he trusts Rue (Zendaya) with his life. While his vote of confidence in Rue may seem par for the course, the way the camera momentarily lingers on Rue in the background may foreshadow that Fez will ultimately end up in a life-or-death situation involving Rue and Laurie (Martha Kelly). We have to admit, things aren't looking good following episode five, which saw Rue reveal to Laurie that she wasn't able to come up with the $10,000 she owed her for the suitcase of drugs.

Ashtray may be a hardcore ride or die, but we know Fez is cut from the same cloth, and no one is better suited to help Rue get out of the mess she's gotten herself into than him. He wouldn't hesitate to protect the ones he loves. That includes Rue and, by extension, Jules (Hunter Schafer) — even if it means sacrificing his life to save theirs.

Some fans aren't quite convinced death is in the cards for Fez, but he could still meet a sad fate to protect someone he loves.

If you recall, Ashtray (Javon "Wanna" Walton) killed Mouse, a drug lord to whom Fez owed money, in the season-two premiere to protect Fez. Now, it could potentially land Fez in hot water. In episode three of season two, there was a brief moment between Fez and his friend that tells us Nelson's (which is possibly Mouse's actual name) "baby mama" may pose a threat to Fez and Ashtray. And fans are theorizing Fez could take the fall for Mouse's murder if the police come asking questions.

Another theory involves a possible second raid on Fez's house. While the season-one raid Nate brought down on Fez didn't unearth anything incriminating against Fez, according to Reddit user @Few-Inflation-1626, a stuntman for "Euphoria" reportedly posted a behind-the-scenes pic showing the aftermath of another raid. "There are over 50 shells in one picture confirming that some gunfire is exchanged. The leaks confirm there is a raid, but now there are also pictures," they wrote.

If this is true, it could go one of two ways. It could be a narcotics raid, landing Fez in prison. Or it could be Mouse's people, or even worse — Laurie's roughnecks, wanting to settle their differences by hurting either Fez or Ashtray. In all honesty, we'd prefer it if it was the FBI.

We hope neither of these theories come to pass, but only time will tell. New episodes of "Euphoria" air Sundays on HBO at 9 pm.
