A Few Familiar Hill House Faces Are Stalking the Halls on The Haunting of Bly Manor

Pedretti is probably one of the most heartbreaking characters on Hill House. As the younger of the Crain twins, Nell is still reeling from her experience with the Bent-Neck Lady. On Bly Manor, Pedretti gets a somewhat happier tale as au pair Dani. Both have equally traumatizing experiences with ghosts, one just gets to live a little longer.

While Jackson-Cohen's Bly Manor character Peter is much more clean-cut than his Hill House counterpart, he's also much more sinister. Possessive and mean, it's hard to feel any empathy for him. With Hill House's Luke, you just want him to succeed — particularly after he loses the sibling that means the most to him.

Thomas deserves all the awards for his portrayal of Henry on Bly Manor. Sort of lost at the beginning, Henry redeems himself towars the end of the season, and in the eyes of his family. Henry and Hill House's young Hugh Crain share this in common, though Hugh has a lot more obstacles to overcome than Henry.

As Theo on Hill House, Siegel is sensitive to ghosts and the evil that goes on around her. Both Viola and Theo are strong, independent women, but Viola has to be so in the 1600s when it was arguably more difficult to hold your ground as a woman. After Viola's death on Bly Manor, she becomes the vengeful Lady in the Lake, and Siegel is divinely terrifying as viewers learn how Viola becomes the Lady in episode eight.

As the matriarch of the Crain family on Hill House, Gugino is warm and welcoming, even when she's causing the deaths of those she loves around her. Her character on Bly Manor is somewhat somber, and it's not until the end we discover the reason why: she's actually an older version of Jamie the gardener, who regales her story to the wedding party.
