Season two of The Politician premieres on Netflix on June 19, but if you can't wait to check in on your favorite characters, the trailer should hold you over until then. While the first season followed Payton Hobart's (Ben Platt) campaign to be class president, season two sees Payton as he takes on incumbent Dede Standish (Judith Light) for a seat in the New York State Senate. As you can expect from a Ryan Murphy show, nothing goes smoothly for anyone, and there is more drama than you could probably even imagine.

In the trailer, which dropped on June 15, we see glimpses of turmoil on both ends of the campaign trail. There's Payton as he struggles with whether or not he's going to play dirty to win, all the while dealing with his scandalous past — including both cultural appropriation and a visit from River (David Corenswet). Then there's Dede, who is at odds with her right-hand woman Hadassah Gold (Bette Midler).

However, you'll have to wait for the season to premiere to see what is happening in Georgina Hobart's (Gwyneth Paltrow) life, as well as how Team Payton (Laura Dreyfuss as McAfee, Rahne Jones as Sky Leighton, Theo Germaine as James Sullivan, Julia Schlaepfer as Alice Charles, and Lucy Boynton as Astrid Sloan) is dealing with a high-stakes campaign. Until then, you can check out the full trailer above.
