The Army informs Owen that Megan has been found, after being a war prisoner for years. Owen, of course, is shocked and confused, feeling especially guilty for giving up on the search. The episode ends with Nathan rushing off to see Megan after Meredith breaks the news to him. Meredith smiles as he drives off into the distance, perhaps hiding a little bit of pain and regret. The show's producers aptly, perhaps cruelly, drop in Calum Scott's melancholy, haunting version of Robyn's "Dancing on My Own."
What will happen once they see Megan? She seems to be stable, but will she survive? We're rooting for Owen to rekindle his relationship with his long-lost sister. At the same time, it doesn't feel great to think about how much Meredith had opened herself up to be with Nathan, how much she had to put Derek's memory behind her. For crying out loud, they held hands! But Meredith has survived much worse, literally near-death experiences, so she will survive this too.
