The Multimillion-Dollar History of the Victoria's Secret Fantasy Bra

Claudia Schiffer — pictured here at the 1997 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show — was the first model to wear the Fantasy Bra in 1996. Referred to as the Million Dollar Miracle Bra, it was originally seen as a specialty item only to be featured in the brand's catalog. The bra was later worn by Tyra Banks at the 1999 show.

In 1997, Tyra Banks modeled the Diamond Dream Bra, which was valued at an estimated $3 million. The simple design featured diamonds along the cups of the bra, with a teardrop pendant at the center. Tyra wore the bra both in a campaign for the brand and during a press event at the flagship store.

In 1998, the Fantasy Bra jumped up to $3 million with the Dream Angel bra worn by Daniela Pestová — pictured here at the 2001 fashion show — in a campaign. The bra featured diamond and ruby stones arranged in a sweet floral pattern.

To celebrate the end of the century and the beginning of a new one, Heidi Klum wore the incredible $10 million Millennium Bra on the cover of the brand's catalog. The matching bra and underwear set, not pictured here, featured thousands of diamonds and sapphires with many star-shaped gems.

In 2000, Gisele Bündchen wore what is still the most expensive piece of lingerie to date. The Red Hot Fantasy Bra and Panties were adorned in rubies and diamonds and had a jaw-dropping value of $15 million. Though it never hit the runway, Gisele modeled the set in a campaign and at an event.

The Heavenly Star Bra was the first to appear on the runway during the brand's first televised fashion show in 2001. Heidi Klum modeled the $12.5 million bra, which featured pink sapphires and an emerald-cut diamond at the center.

In her third fashion show in 2002, Karolina Kurkova modeled the Star of Victoria Fantasy Bra, which consisted of rubies and emeralds arranged to resemble roses. The bra and its matching belt were valued at $10 million.

Heidi Klum's third Fantasy Bra was very sexy indeed. The model layered this $11 million diamond mesh set over a red bra and underwear during the 2003 fashion show.

In 2004, Victoria's Secret skipped its annual fashion show for the Angels Across America Tour, which saw Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, and Tyra Banks traveling throughout the nation together. In a campaign that year, Tyra wore the Heavenly 70 Fantasy Bra, which was valued at $10 million.

Gisele Bündchen wore the delicate $12.5 million Sexy Splendor Fantasy Bra and matching belt during the 2005 fashion show. The bra featured diamonds inlaid with several rubies, with a diamond pendant hanging at the center.

In her second time wearing the Fantasy Bra, Karolina Kurkova wore the blinding Hearts on Fire Diamond Fantasy Bra on the runway in 2006. The all-white bra had a minimalist design — although it was in no way understated — with a floral pendant at the center.

In 2007, Selita Ebanks wore the festive Holiday Fantasy Bra set, which was valued at $4.5 million. This particular set was special in that it also included a garter, bracelet, and hair accessory all consisting of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and yellow sapphires.

After nearly a decade of walking in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Adriana Lima finally modeled the Fantasy Bra in 2008. The $5 million Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra was covered in thousands of black and white diamonds, featuring two larger black diamonds dangling at the center.

In 2009, Marisa Miller wore the Harlequin Fantasy Bra, which was valued at $3 million. The patterned design was achieved with diamonds in a variety of colors, and a heart-shaped diamond was featured prominently at the center.

The 2010 fashion show marked Adriana Lima's second time wearing the Fantasy Bra. The $2 million Bombshell Fantasy Bra she wore consisted of diamonds, sapphires, and topaz arranged in a starry pattern. The year also marked the start of the now-customary Fantasy Bra reveal event in anticipation of the runway show.

Miranda Kerr wore the unique Fantasy Treasure Bra during her sixth fashion show in 2011. At $2.5 million, the aquatic bra was fittingly made up of pearls and aquamarine gemstones — along with plenty of diamonds, of course.

After over a decade, Alessandra Ambrosio finally landed the Fantasy Bra in 2012. The $2.5 million Floral Fantasy Bra set consisted of colorful stones like rubies, amethysts, sapphires, and more arranged to resemble flowers and vines.

Candice Swanepoel wore one of the more expensive Fantasy Bras during the first fashion show set in London in 2013. The $10 million Royal Fantasy Bra featured yellow sapphires, rubies, and more set in gold, with a sizable ruby dangling from the center.

For the first time ever, two Victoria's Secret Angels modeled Fantasy Bras! During the 2014 show, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio wore the matching $2 million Dream Angels Fantasy Bras covered in sapphires and rubies, respectively.

In 2015, Lily Aldridge wore the fun Fireworks Fantasy Bra, valued at $2 million. During a patriotic segment of the show, the model walked down the runway in the bra and matching belt, which included sapphires, topaz, and pink quartz.

During Victoria's Secret's first show in Paris, Jasmine Tookes wore this Bright Night Fantasy Bra. The $3 million bra was covered in diamonds and emerald gemstones, with a green tassel at the center.

In her seventh Victoria's Secret show, Lais Ribeiro wore the gorgeous Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra during the 2017 fashion show in Shanghai. The $2 million bra took over 350 hours to make and featured diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz.

Elsa Hosk was recently announced as the model for the 2018 Dream Angels Fantasy Bra. The $1 million bra was made of Swarovski diamonds and responsibly sourced topaz. For the first time ever, customers will be able to buy a $250 version of the bra in select stores.
