RunDisney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend is one of our favorite running events every year. Even though the event was able to happen in 2020 before Walt Disney World closed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 event has been transformed into a virtual event. Don't fret though, all of the races are still able to be run — you'll just have to pass the castle you live at instead of running by Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. If you've already registered for the event, then you'll be receiving an email from runDisney on if you want to keep or cancel your current registration with specific instructions on how to do so. New registrations for the virtual event start Thursday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. EDT. Even though next year's race might look a little different, we're still breaking out our tiaras to compete in these races. Swipe through for more information and a peek at the awesome medals.

How You Can Register For the Virtual Races

If you weren't previously registered for any of the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend races, we have good news! More spaces are opening Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. EDT. There are only a limited amount of spaces, so you will need to be on your computer a little before 10 a.m. to ensure you get a spot.

There may be more spots that open in the following weeks and months as runners who were previously registered for the in-person event make their decision to cancel or run at home. The announcements on new openings are made through the runDisney social media channels but tend to go quickly. To snag one of those spots, you should turn on notifications for runDisney on Twitter and Instagram.
