15 Nostalgic Moments That Took Us to Any Year but 2020
Lately, Hollywood has been in nostalgia overload as they go from one reboot to the next, but every once in a while, there is a nostalgic moment that comes along that actually brings us joy. As we dealt with the trash fire year that was 2020, we were able to find some comfort in iconic cast reunions, the resurgence of some of our favorite singers, and a handful of decent TV remakes.
When Christina Aguilera sang "Reflection" for the live-action Mulan, we all cried happy tears. When the original High School Musical cast performed with the next generation of Wildcats from Disney+'s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, our teenage hearts rejoiced. And when Stephenie Meyer finally released Midnight Sun, it was like Twilight mania all over again. As we near the end of 2020, look back at some of the biggest nostalgia moments from the past year in the slides ahead.
The Legally Blonde Cast Reuniting For the 20-Year Anniversary
The Mean Girls Cast Re-creating That Iconic Phone-Call Scene
On Oct. 3 (so fetch, right?), the cast of Mean Girls had a virtual meetup with Katie Couric to talk about the iconic movie and encourage fans to vote in partnership with HeadCount and #GoodToVote. However, one of the best moments from the reunion was when the Plastics re-created that iconic phone-call scene from the movie.
Christina Aguilera Singing "Reflection" For the Live-Action Mulan
Christina Aguilera's rendition of "Reflection" from the original Mulan film is iconic, but something about this one just hits differently. In honor of the live-action release of Mulan, the singer shared an updated version of the track with a fancy new music video in August.

The Bring It On Cast Celebrating the Film's 20-Year Anniversary
While we still can't believe that Bring It On is 20 years old, we delighted in all the fun that surrounded the film's anniversary this year. Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union reunited to discuss the film in August, but one of our favorite moments was when Gabrielle got back into her Clovers uniform with daughter Kaavia for Halloween. Plus, Gabrielle confirmed there's a sequel in the works during an appearance on The Late Late Show in September.
Midnight Sun Finally Getting Released
The High School Musical Cast Performing With the New Cast
During the first Disney Family Singalong in April, the High School Musical cast (minus Zac Efron) reunited to sing "We're All in This Together." As if that wasn't nostalgic enough, they were joined by a handful of Disney stars for the performance, including the cast of Disney+'s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Talk about worlds colliding!
Taylor Swift Rerecording "Love Story"
In December, Taylor Swift took us back to her Fearless era with the first glimpse of her rerecorded "Love Story." The track was featured in a hilarious Match.com commercial written by Ryan Reynolds, and it made us even more eager for her rerecorded albums.
The Jonas Brothers Re-creating a Camp Rock Scene
After taking us back to our teen years with their reunion last year, the Jonas Brothers upped the ante when they re-created this scene from Camp Rock in January. We can't get over the wigs!
The Lizzie McGuire Cast Reuniting For a Table Read
Though the Lizzie McGuire reboot on Disney+ was short-lived, we all delighted in this iconic table read of "Between a Rock and a Bra Place" back in May.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special
HBO Max's Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special in November was everything we needed and more. It made us laugh, it made us cry, and it made us want to rewatch the entire series again.
