7 Things We Really Hope to See If The Umbrella Academy Is Renewed For Season 3
The Umbrella Academy season two premiered on July 31, and we're already ready for more! After that shocking cliffhanger, can you really blame us? Even though Netflix hasn't officially renewed the series yet, that hasn't stopped our minds from racing with theories, questions, and hopes for a potential season three.
Season two was certainly a wild trip as the Hargreeves family travels to the 1960s and try to stop yet another apocalypse (seriously, they can't catch a break). Though they eventually find a way to stop the world from ending (again) and make it back to present day, they arrive to an entirely new timeline where the Umbrella Academy is now replaced with the Sparrow Academy. As we patiently wait for Netflix to renew the series, we've rounded up a few things we'd like to see.
What Is the Sparrow Academy Anyway?
After that shocking cliffhanger in the season two finale, the biggest question on our minds is: what the heck is the Sparrow Academy?! Are they potential villains for season three or will they prove to be allies to the Umbrella Academy? We don't know for sure, but we certainly have some theories about how it could all go down.
How Will This New Ben Be Different?
While we're anxious to learn more about the Sparrow Academy, we are definitely relieved to know there will be more of Ben (Justin H. Min) on our screens. Although, based on his appearance (that hair!) and less-than-welcoming demeanor in the final scene, this isn't the Ben we all know. We are definitely curious to see how dark and moody Ben lives up to the original!
How Will Reginald Hargreeves's Return Shake Things Up?
The return of Reginald Hargreeves in present day is certainly a big shock for the Umbrella Academy, and will no doubt cause some serious shakeups in a third season. There is still so much we still don't know about him! (Like, hello, what is up with that alien suit?) Hopefully his return will give us more answers about why he created the Umbrella Academy in the first place.
Where Exactly Did Lila Go?
So much is revealed about Lila in season two (she's The Handler's adoptive daughter and she has powers?!), but there is still so much more we want to know. Here's hoping Lila can set aside her issues with the Umbrella Academy and join forces with them for the greater good. They are technically her siblings, after all!
What Happened to Harlan?
Something tells us we haven't seen the last of Harlan. Even though Vanya seemingly takes away his powers in the season two finale, it's clear that he still possesses some sort of telekinetic abilities as he plays with his toys in the back of the car. Now that the Umbrella Academy is back in present day, could an adult Harlan return as the big villain for season three? Now that would be a twist!
Is Klaus's Cult Still Active?
Klaus's followers are zealous to say the least, so we're definitely curious to see what has become of the cult in present day. Is Destiny's Children still active? What will the cult's reaction be when they find out Klaus is alive in 2019? And most importantly, did Klaus using popular song lyrics as his teachings mean we never got hit tracks like TLC's "Waterfalls" and Backstreet Boys' "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)"?
What Are the Repercussions of the Altered Timeline?
Let's be real, the Umbrella Academy completely ignored the number one rule of time travel: don't mess with the timeline. Not only does Klaus create an entire cult, but Allison plays a vital role in the Civil Rights Movement and even gets married. Plus, there's the whole thing with Reginald Hargreeves adopting a whole new set of children after his encounter with the Umbrella Academy in the '60s. We're getting tired just thinking about all the possible scenarios.
