Since Adidas is the official sponsor of the marathon, it's the only shoe that carries the logo of the Boston Athletics Association — the mythical unicorn! The special-edition Adizero Adios 3 ($160) will be available in two colorways and available for purchase exclusively at the Adidas RunBase store in Boston and the Boston Marathon expo. The Nantucket shoe ($130) from Brooks is a special editon of its popular Adrenaline GTS 16 running shoe. Representing all things New England, the plaid shoe is decorated with images of a whale, lobster, and anchor.

As part of its larger World Marathon Series, the Saucony Boston Kinvara 7 ($120) has a release date of April 11, helping to kick off the one-week countdown to the race.

Just a month after debuting to rave reviews, the Nike Women's LunarEpic ($190) is getting its own Boston edition. We're fond of the logo on its heel: a play on the gold olive wreaths the winners receive.
