Figure Skater Mae-Berenice Meite Performs to Beyonce

Forget a "Halo" — This Figure Skater Deserves a Crown For Her Iconic Beyoncé Routine

There's something unique about figure skating routines that whether they're set to DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What" or more serious music like "The Room Where It Happens" from Hamilton, the impact is equally as impressive. During the European Figure Skating Championships on Jan. 18, French figure skater Maé-Bérénice Méité learned that all it takes is a little Beyoncé to get the crowd on their feet. Méité opened at the competition in Moscow with a cover of "Halo," then transitioned into an insanely fierce performance of Beyoncé's original "Run the World (Girls)."

You don't have to be a member of the Beyhive to be impressed by Méité's routine. The badass skater has been wowing on the ice since she was just 5 years old, later winning her first senior national title at the 2014 French Championships and representing France at the Winter Olympics in Sochi later that year, where she finished 10th. Watch her Beyoncé performance above, and prepare to start buzzing. Then, check out this helpful breakdown of how figure skating is scored.
