Jillian Michaels's Powerful Message For Anyone Dealing With Anxiety

We can always count on Jillian Michaels to brighten up our day (and honestly, our lives) with her uplifting fitness mantras and need-a-towel-ASAP workouts, but now, she's sharing a personal story that can speak to anyone who's ever been overwhelmed or suffered from anxiety. The 42-year-old fitness and life coach took to Instagram to explain what happened when she witnessed a hit-and-run accident involving a coyote.

"Last night some asshole hit a coyote and took off," she captioned the photo below. "I pulled over and tried to get her to the vet in time, but she died in my arms in the car. I felt so helpless and devastated. @blshay happened to text me at that moment and I unraveled. I think what hit me the hardest was that the guy just kept driving. This morning she sent me this. I wanted to share it. And just say to anyone who might be feeling overwhelmed or helpless — keep doing what you are doing. You can't change others, but you can 'be the change' you want to see in the world. Don't let bastards get you down. Keep fighting the good fight — even when you feel like your losing. God does work in mysterious ways."

Jillian's sad experience is a reminder to those who have ever suffered from anxiety or depression that they are doing a great job because "ships don't sink because of the water around them; ships sink because of the water that gets in them. Don't let what's happening around you get inside you and weigh you down."
