Converse Pride Collection: Converse, owned by Nike, launched its fifth Converse Pride Collection on May 29. The sneakers are inspired by the More Color, More Pride flag that added black and brown stripes to the Pride flag in order to recognize people of color in the LGBTQ+ community. You'll see a lot of rainbows, sequined designs, and customizable options, as well as a few pieces of clothing.
How Converse is giving back: This year's Converse Pride Collection will benefit four organizations focused on aiding LGBTQ+ youth: It Gets Better Project, Ali Forney Center, BAGLY, and OUT MetroWest. According to a spokesperson, Converse is committing $100,000 toward those organizations and is making additional donations to local organizations around the world on behalf of each individual featured within their Pride campaign. What's more, Converse is donating Pride apparel to BAGLY in Boston, who will, in turn, give these clothes to displaced LGBTQ+ youth.
