Oksana Masters was already a 10-time Paralympic medalist going into the Beijing Winter Games. She not only won the United States' first gold medal of the 2022 Beijing Paralympics, but she also won a whopping seven medals in the sitting classification of biathlon and cross-country skiing, making her the first American athlete to win seven medals at a single Paralympics, according to NBC Sports.
That's not all. Masters is also the most decorated athlete from the 2022 Winter Paralympics and the most decorated American Winter Paralympian of all time, with 14 total medals (and she has 17 medals if you include the Summer Paralympics). During the Games, Masters, originally born in Ukraine, voiced her support for the country on social media.
