Taking the time to relax over a healthy breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day, but life (or an extra 30 minutes in bed) often gets in the way. Instead of opting for an unhealthy pastry, or worse, skipping breakfast completely, enjoy this satisfying three-ingredient yogurt parfait that's ready to go in less than two minutes. High in protein and low in fat, this easy and satisfying breakfast recommendation from nutritionist Julie Upton, MS, RD, of Appetite for Health, will help you keep you weight-loss goals in check.

INGREDIENTS

    • 1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
    • 1/2 cup low-sugar granola (up to 10 grams of sugar)
    • 1 cup fresh berries

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Measure your ingredients and layer them in a parfait glass or mason jar.

    2. Grab a spoon and enjoy!

    Notes

When choosing a granola, Julie's recommendation is 1/2 cup of granola that has less than (or up to) 10 grams of sugar — read those labels carefully! I'm a big fan of Bear Naked V'nilla Almond Fit Granola that has eight grams of sugar for every 1/2 cup.
