Best Makeup: Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Up Brow Flexible Brow-Texturizing Wax
"Out of all steps in my makeup routine, I'm endlessly lazy when it comes to my brows. (Cara Delevingne, I am not.) Most days I can't be bothered to do anything to them, which is why even I was surprised that the Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Up Brow Flexible Brow-Texturizing Wax ($26) has become the best beauty discovery I've made in months. Unlike most brow pencils, stencils, or powders that require precision — and frankly, a few f*cks to give, which I don't have — this is a clear, flexible pomade that creates a feathery (read: natural) look with zero flakes. Plus, once you set the style, it does not budge all day; that means you could layer it on top of other brow products to keep them in place if you're into that sort of thing, or you could be like me and use on its own." — Kelsey Castañon, director, beauty
"My go-to brow products usually come from Benefit, and the brand's new Fluff Up Brow Wax quickly made it to my list of favorite new products this month. It keeps my brows in place all day without leaving them crunchy. It works well on its own, but it's also perfect for layering over my favorite brow pencils." — Renee Rodriguez, staff writer and social producer
Best Makeup: Maybelline New York Super Stay Up to 24HR Hybrid Powder-Foundation
"Maybelline's products always impress me, and the Maybelline New York Super Stay Up to 24HR Hybrid Powder-Foundation ($15) is no exception. I'm admittedly not a huge powder foundation girl (I have dry skin, which typically doesn't mix well) but this new formula played nicely with my complexion in more ways than one. It didn't leave my face feeling like a desert or cake-y after wearing it for hours, and though it has a matte finish, it still looks like your skin but with a soft focus filter. It's available in 16 shades and offers medium-to-full coverage that can be applied all over or, if you're like me, used to spot target certain areas only where I want it." — Jessica Harrington, editor, beauty
Best Makeup: Ami Cole Lip Treatment Oil
"Ami Cole recently released a gift set of their popular Ami Cole Lip Treatment Oil ($20) that features two new shades: Bliss and Reflection. It comes in a chic gift box that makes it perfect for gifting but to be completely honest, I am absolutely keeping them all for myself. The formula is glossy without being sticky and is deeply hydrating thanks to camellia oil in the ingredient list. These new colors have once again made this oil creep back onto my favorite-lip gloss-formulas-of-all-time list." — Ariel Baker, assistant editor, beauty
Best Makeup: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Highlighting Powder
"Bobbi Brown Cosmetics partnered with celebrity jewelry designer Stephanie Gottlieb to create a stunning limited-edition collection. The line features some of the brand's best sellers but with new shades and jewel-inspired packaging, like the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Highlighting Powder in Pink Glow ($52). The formula itself is a hybrid between a gel and a powder, leaving your skin with a lit-from-within glow. It glides on effortlessly, doesn't disrupt your other face products underneath it, and catches the light beautifully." — JH
Best Skin Care: Orpheus Resurrection Serum Slip Cleanser
"The Orpheus Resurrection Serum Slip Cleanser ($58) feels like heaven on the face. There's no other way to describe it. It's silky and smooth but foams up nicely when introduced with water. It also smells incredibly calming. I'm actually on the verge of finishing the bottle and I am not OK." — AB
Best Skin Care: Supergoop! Daily Dose Bioretinol + Mineral SPF 40 Fluid
"Wearing sunscreen every day, rain or shine, indoors or outdoors, is very important to me. And though I see sunscreen as a worthy investment for the sun protection element alone when a formula also boosts additional skin-care benefits, it makes me all the more excited to try it. The Supergoop! Daily Dose Bioretinol + Mineral SPF 40 Fluid ($46) is a perfect example of a multitasking SPF. It contains SPF 40 protection, plus bakuchiol (a gentler, plant-derived retinol alternative) to improve signs of aging like dark spots and fine lines. The formula has a light universal tint and goes on super silky with a matte finish. It's a dream." — JH
Best Skin Care: Fenty Skin Plush Puddin’ Intensive Recovery Lip Mask
"Another day, another chance for a lip balm to get a coveted spot on my nightstand. This month, the Fenty Skin Plush Puddin' Intensive Recovery Lip Mask ($22) is the one that made the cut thanks to its deeply hydrating formula and absolutely adorable packaging. It doesn't take up much space on my admittedly crowded bedside table, and I don't have to dip my fingers into a pot thanks to the twist-up wheel on the bottom. When I wake my lips are soft, pillowy, and still have a slight shine from the night before, which I love." — AB
Best Hair Care:
"Charcoal had its moment in the beauty spotlight years ago for its ability to draw out impurities in the skin, and now you can get the same benefits for your scalp with the Garnier Whole Blends Black Charcoal Rebalancing Shampoo ($5, launching in January). Considering my hair is basically a graveyard for dry shampoo, I definitely need the deep clean come wash day, but my brittle ends can't exactly handle the drying astringents often found in most 'detox' sudsers. This option from Garnier provides the best of both worlds: charcoal works to remove dirt and grime, while oils from the Nigella sativa plant hydrate and strengthen. My hair is softer and healthier, which is really all anyone can ask for to kick off the new year." — KC
Best Hair Care: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash Shampoo
"I'm a big fan of Gisou hair products, especially its newly updated shampoo formula: the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash Shampoo ($37). The brand was created by influencer Negin Mirsalehi, and the products are made with honey from her family's bee garden. The shampoo smells amazing, keeps my hair looking bouncy and fresh, and leaves it feeling silky smooth." — RR
Best Body Care: Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Firmeza Firming & Debloating Body Oil
"There's no body moisturizer quite as recognizable as Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum cream, which is why you can now scoop up the creamy caramel and pistachio scent in scrub, fragrance mist, and body wash form. For anyone with extra dry skin (or who just likes to feel silky soft year-round), it's now taking on new life in body oil form with the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Firmeza Body Oil ($52). I should preface: I'm not usually a body oil person, but after first discovering it during a lymphatic drainage massage with Camila Perez, it might have just made me a believer. The formula is spiked with guaraná caffeine to stimulate circulation and Brazilian olive oil to pump the skin with moisture, but more importantly for me, it doesn't feel slippy and absorbs in seconds — no greasy transfer to your clothes or bedsheets." — KC
Best Body Care: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Shimmering Body Oil
"Have I had any reason to be wearing body shimmer over the last few weeks? No. But have I been taking any and every opportunity to wear the Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Shimmering Body Oil ($195) anyway? Yes. This oil has the scent of the now-viral fragrance but also flecks of gold shimmer to leave my skin looking extremely well moisturized. It's a pricier product but it doesn't look glittery on the skin, so if you want to get your money's worth and wear it every day, you can. Plus it will make you look next-level moisturized for special nights out. This is a win-win in my book." — AB
Best Body Care: Anima Mundi Palo Santo Oil
"I'm going through a breakup right now, and I just moved into a new apartment. I've been in deep (and I mean deep) need of some cleansing, and the Anima Mundi Palo Santo Oil ($27) has been my go-to product. Not only does it smell amazing enough to wear every day, but I love that the essential oil is typically used to protect the aura. Applying it every morning has become a fun ritual that I look forward to." — RR
Best Body Care: Touchland Smiley Mango Passion Sanitizer Mist
"What do you get when you mix my favorite fruit (mangoes) and my favorite hand sanitizers? The new Touchland Smiley Mango Passion Sanitizer Mist ($10). This new version of the sanitizer has all of my favorite qualities of the regular Touchland products with a scent that is extremely nostalgic to me. It has been on the go with me in every single one of my purses." — AB
Best Fragrance: Anecdote Candles Midnight Moonlight
"The holidays may be over, but I'm not ready to give up my festive candles just yet — they help me prolong that warm, cozy feeling of December for the rest of winter. The Anecdote Candles Midnight Moonlight ($34) doesn't smell overly 'holiday' with its scent, but it still evokes those similar feelings. It has delicious hints of plum, cabernet grape, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk, making it both sweet and rich." — JH
Best Fragrance: Ex Nihilo Idle Hour
"Ex Nihilo Idle Hour ($350) is winter in a fragrance. Notes of pink pepper, ylang-ylang, and cedarwood give it an almost unisex quality — my boyfriend has, in fact, asked me what it is so he can wear it on numerous occasions — and it dries down to this sweet, smoky scent that has gotten me non-stop compliments. I usually switch out my fragrance every day because I get tired of the same smell but this has been the only perfume I've been wearing for the past few weeks. It never gets old." — AB
Best Fragrance: Henry Rose Windows Down Candle
"I just moved into a new apartment, and I've been on a mission to make it as cozy as possible. I've been relying on candles to get the vibe right, and the Henry Rose Windows Down Candle ($65) has been the perfect addition to my new home. It's made with soy and vegetable waxes and a 100 percent cotton wick, and the grapefruit and floral finish is divine." — RR
Best Nail Care: Essie (Un)guilty Pleasures Nail Polish
"I'm not much of a manicure person (I can blame my atrocious nail-biting habit for that) but I do love a fun and festive color for my toes now and again. My latest pedicure polish of choice? The Essie Nail Polish in Cream Green New Winter ($10) from the brand's (Un)guilty Pleasures collection. It's the perfect winter shade: darker than your average green but rich in tone — and way more fun." — KC
