We're not even halfway through 2018, but it's already been a rough year for TV fans. Aside from having to say goodbye to our favorite shows, we've also had to say goodbye to a few of our favorite characters. Sure, Carol was one of the villains of the show, but she was still Lucy's mother. After going on a trip with the rest of the Rittenhouse to get Jiya back, she is eventually double-crossed by Emma and gets shot. She eventually dies in Lucy's arms.

Though Jiya prophesies Rufus's death earlier this season, we still had hope that it wouldn't actually happen. Even though he escapes getting stabbed like in Jiya's original vision, fate catches up to him and he is shot by Emma a few moments later. Thankfully, there's a chance that his death will be reversed in the the show's two-hour finale in December as the Time Team goes back in time to save Rufus.
