With the high fat content and decent amount of protein, this yogurt is vegan, keto-approved, and so satiating, especially if you add fruit, seeds, nut butter, and granola.

The ingredients in Trader Joe's Plain Unsweetened Cashew Yogurt are water, organic cashews, organic tapioca starch, organic locust bean gum, organic coconut cream (organic coconut, water), and live active cultures (streptococcus thermophilus, lactobacillus bugaris, L. acidophilus, bifidobacterium bifidum, L. lactis, L. plantarium).

After peeling off the lid and licking off the thin layer of strawberry yogurt, I couldn't wait to grab my spoon and go all in. The strawberry flavor was strong and pleasantly sweet but not grossly sweet or fake tasting. The texture was unbelievably creamy thanks to the cashews and coconut cream, but it didn't have a strong coconut flavor, which I appreciated. This Plain Unsweetened Cashew Yogurt tastes more flavorful than most unsweetened yogurts I've tried, thanks to the hint of coconut cream. It doesn't taste at all like cashews but has a very mildly sweet and delicate flavor, even though it's sugar-free. The texture is very silky, smooth, and thick but is not at all chalky. It has a consistency and flavor more like regular yogurt than Greek yogurt. It's not overly tangy at all, which I really liked.

I like to separate the tub into four smaller containers, and let me tell you — this yogurt makes amazing overnight oats. If you've never tried using yogurt in your overnight oats, it's so thick, creamy, and delicious! I also like adding a few spoonfuls to my smoothies, on top of pancakes or waffles, or to frozen bananas when I make nice cream. You can also use this as a nondairy alternative to sour cream in baked goods or dip recipes.

At $1.69, the price of this Organic Creamy Cashew yogurt is pretty reasonable. Other dairy-free yogurts can cost almost $3, so this is pretty good! If you prefer the Plain Unsweetened, for a big tub, it costs $5. You get four servings, so it's just over a $1 per serving.

I'll definitely stock up on the strawberry and plain unsweetened, but Trader Joe's also has vanilla bean and, in the fall, pumpkin spice!
