Freida Pinto and Dev Patel split in December after nearly six years of dating. The couple first starred in Slumdog Millionaire together back in 2008 and were together as a couple ever since. A source told Us Weekly that "Freida is single and happy."

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy called off their engagement in early December. Kate's rep released a statement, saying, "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed coparents." Days later, the Muse frontman tweeted, "Love all of you guys! We're both very happy, it's for the best. Thanks for your kind words. Now about that new album." Kate and Matt began dating in 2010, and Matt popped the question in April 2011. Their son, Bingham Bellamy, was born in July of that year. Kate spoke out multiple times about not minding a long engagement. In October, she told Women's Health, "My parents [Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell] aren't married," adding, "They didn't feel like they needed a piece of paper to be committed. So for me, I know that marriage is not a golden ticket."

Singers Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo called it quits in September after almost three years of dating. Sources close to the couple said that their breakup was mutual and that they "still care very deeply for each other and will remain in [each other's] lives as friends."
