Owen's love pentagon with Koracick, Teddy, Amelia, and Link has become unwieldy lately. After years of his will-they-won't-they game with Teddy, many viewers feel like it might be too little too late for the trauma surgeon to fix things, even though Teddy is having his baby. While he's notoriously a difficult character, Owen should be given credit for finally being on the mend, stepping up as a father for Leo, and going to therapy to sort his feelings.
In season 15's penultimate episode, Owen finally convinces Frances, the blood donor, to brave through her agoraphobia and go to the hospital. But while they're on the way back to Grey Sloan, their car ends up in the middle of a pileup. It all feels ominous for Owen because Teddy confesses her love for him to Amelia as her water breaks. Dying a hero would almost be redemptive, given Owen's string of past selfish behavior. Still, it's not fair to his daughter or Teddy. (As a side note, the driver and Frances in the car might also be in danger, but fingers crossed that everyone ends up OK!)
