Half of these things don't even apply to me anyways (my Pulmonologist would shoot me if I ever started smoking xD), but it really is important to be honest with your Dr. You can't get the best care they want to give you if you lie! And it really can mess up your health, not to mention you're missing out on an opportunity to create a great relationship. I adore my Dr; she's awesome! I'm sad that in a few years I wont qualify to see her anymore :(

I see patients every day and they will lie to their Dr but when that Dr is out of ear shot they spill the beans. Don't they realize I have to write it in their chart so the Dr finds out anyway?

"Have you ever been pregnant?" You'd be surprised how many lie about it. and "No I never have unprotected sex...but can I have the morning after pill just in case?" Which is just stupid.
